Who Has The Worst Intake of Omega 3s?

In a recent study with 45,347 participants, it showed adverse health risks were greatest, in particular, in young children and pregnant women as they had the lowest intake in Omega 3 fatty acids.

According to the authors, low intake of Omega 3s during pregnancy and early childhood is associated with maternal depression, pre-term births, low birth-weight babies, increased risk of allergies and asthma, problems with learning and cognition, and other neurocognitive outcomes.

The evidence is strong enough that we should be alarmed by the very low omega-3 intake in pregnant women and young children.

This is easily fixed.  You want a good Omega 3 supplement with a 5 step Molecular Distillation process for contaminants and is, also, a “full spectrum” product, not just EPA and DHA. This is important as the whole is greater than the parts.

Example: Research has shown, unequivocally, that colon cancer risk is decreased by eating a high fiber, low fat diet and getting the right amount of calcium, B vitamins, exercise and weight control.  But you can’t show any one of them, by itself, is effective.”  This is why it’s important to keep the full complex of nutrients intact.
